Send a private message to gmiller More than likely there was an OSX update that updated some package that Homeport needs and its causing issues and on the Mac end there is not much you can do until Garmin decides to fix it. Send a private message to ClassicGuy. I have also thought that I succesfully copied waypoints only to be unable to find them once on the Garmin XS. I have no idea if this is related, but it doesn't look like Active Captain is compatible with the xs.
It just seems like they could do better as we am basically dealing with software products which just do not work. The target device would have to have an FTPd process running.
That's how I make my Garmin update SD cards. You might consider garmim your hard drive with a solid state drive.
Garmin Homeport troubles with MAC OS - what options exist
Do do you have accesss to a PC? I use the latest version fog Homeport 2. It interfaces with my apple phone fine but I use a windows base computer to do my home work.

Generally Macs are neglected for consideration of software compatibility when Apple releases an garmiin ad most people use Windows so that is what the developers of Homeport are going to focus on and then use extra cycles for the Mac stuff. Usually a "sneaker-net" approach is used.
I think I will call Garmin this week and see if they can help. When booted in Windows it is a Windows PC. I will be even deeper in the Garmin eco system.
